As i walked to the east, through the halls of the building, which seemed like $P7, i thought that i should be doing my math homework. It seemed as though it had been a very long time since i had done any of it. I then thought that i must have been sick, because i did not remember going to classes lately. I felt worried that i did not have the work done. I tried to remember why i had not done the problems. I then pictured the math teacher in the room on the north side of the hall in front of me. I could not remember why i had not been doing my work. I then started to think that i had dropped the class a long time ago. I was not really taking anything, so i did not have to worry. I walked across the hall of $P7 and into the classroom that i had been thinking about. While sitting on the south side of the long wooden table, i listened to the teacher speaking. $Z was sitting to the east of me at the table, which now seemed more like the teacher’s desk. The teacher was a man of medium build, with short whitening hair and a plain light-brown suit coat with matching pants. He leaned forward on his desk as he said something to $Z. I thought about the books that i should start reading for the class. I did not have the red paperback book with me at the moment, but i wondered whether i could buy it so that i could start on the reading. I turned to the west, now sitting on the west side of a long cafeteria table. There was another table to the west of me with some other people on it. I then thought that i should probably not buy a new copy of the book just to read here because i already had it at home. It was the first book in a trilogy, and i knew that i had bought it as part of a larger volume. I pictured the black volume of The Hitchhiker’s Trilogy as i turned around to say something to someone to the north of me. $F4 wrapped his left arm over my shoulder and started saying something to me in jest. I joked back to him as he pushed me off of the bench, to the south. He tightened his arm around my neck into a headlock as we fell to the floor. I was surprised at how strong he seemed to be. I wondered whether he was really trying to wrestle me, or whether he was just joking around. We were then standing up, and i could see $F4 walking around the east side of the table, where he spoke to the other person as he sat down. The front of his shirt had been pulled open in our scuffle, and i could see his chest muscles. He was well built. I was surprised to see that he had put on muscle and was still in such good shape. He seemed to be sitting next to $F7. I turned to the west and said something to the person near me. Me seemed to be in the back locker room of $P7. All of the people here were coming back for some alumni event. I said something to $F27 when i noticed a woman walking down some steps to the south of us. There was a structure directly to the south of us, which obscured part of our view, so i could not see exactly who the woman was. I watched her walk to the west of us, around the obstruction. We now seemed to be standing on the north side of a long white table, watching the woman as she rounded the western end of the table. As she came into view, i realized that she was $A275. She was wearing a simple white dress which seemed to be made of a wrinkled material. Her head was bowed slightly forward, and i could see her face as though it was very close. I could see the wrinkles in her pale skin starting to show. She seemed pensive. I called to her as she rounded the end of the table and came toward us. She smiled as we hugged hello. I asked her how she had been. It had been a long time since i had seen her. We were standing to the north of the building, which seemed like the back of $P7, when i asked $A275 about her marriage. She seemed suddenly sad as she stood in the doorway of the tall brick building. There seemed to be white stone edging around the doorway. She reluctantly told me that she had not actually gotten married. The people around me seemed suddenly somber. I half hugged her as i apologized for asking. I had not heard the news that everyone else had heard. I said “I guess i shouldn’t ask about the children then.” She chuckled lightly and feigned kneeing me in the groin. I laughed at the joke, but still felt bad for her. I continued talking to her and the others that had gathered around us.

I was lying on the bed thinking of the story that i had written. I tried to remember how the book had started. I thought that there was something which had fallen to the planet. I could see the planet below. I seemed to be in orbit around it. There was a round white space craft just to the right of my view. I thought about the object falling on the planet and thought that it would be a better start to the novel than the one that i had originally planned. I then walked to the west, along the southern edge of the campus. There was someone with me. The road on which i was walking ran along the north side of a row of old shops and small city buildings. The row seemed to be only one building wide, with a main road to the south. I was then walking across the intersection of the main road. The road on which i was walking curved to the south, crossing the main street. I said something to $Z as i followed the crosswalk on the western side of the intersection. I turned to the north and started to jog. I felt that i had to get back, but i also felt uncomfortable here. I started to run back to the north, but pushed off from the ground, thinking that i should fly. It seemed difficult to get into the air, but i forced myself higher. I was then aware that the people behind me were watching me. I struggled to move through the air, but i seemed stuck. I then rolled over onto my back and said something to the people still on the street behind. I wanted to show them that i could fly.

I walked down the hall of the tall city building. This place seemed old, with tall off-white walls. The corridor in the building ran from northeast to southwest. I thought that this place seemed like the Empire State Building. I stood in front of one of the elevators, waiting for the door to open. I felt uncomfortable here, as though someone was watching me. I felt as though i had to get out of the main corridor and find a safe place to hide. I remembered that there was a gunman in the building somewhere. I started to feel that he might be targeting me. I moved to the southwest a little, where there was a brass-coloured elevator door with the word “Goya” painted in gold script letters. This elevator had something to do with the jewish area of the building. The door was in the southeast wall of the corridor. The elevator was taking a long time, though, and i felt very impatient. There was a man standing to the northeast of me in a brown trench coat. The elevator doors opened part of the way, exposing the cables and the top of the elevator inside. I did not feel safe here waiting for the elevator to correct itself. It was not working properly, and i knew that it would take some time before it reached the floor to let us in. I could not wait any longer, and i turned to the north and headed up the corridor to the stairs. The gunman was watching me, and i had to get out of his sight before he shot me. I turned to the east, down a corridor at the center of the building, expecting to find the stairs that would lead up. The center of the building was an open shaft. I stopped at the entrance to the atrium, realizing that this area was more exposed that the corridor by the elevators. There seemed to be a set of stairs running up the north wall of the large rectangular shaft, and there were many steel beams crossing the center of the building above me. The ground seemed to be uneven, as though it was covered with rubble. Something to the north of me seemed to me cream tan and pink. I felt unsafe here, knowing that the gunman could be watching me from above. I could not let him get a clear shot. I crossed the cavernous room and came into the corridor which ran north to south on the east side of the building. I hurried down the corridor to the south, trying to lose the man who was following me. I knew that there was a door to a stairwell here somewhere which could take me to the basement of the building. I spotted the bronze-coloured door on the west wall and quickly walked into it, thinking that it felt strange to be in a jewish exclusive area. I hurried down the stairs, passing a man in a trench coat, who was walking up. I felt that i had to hurry so that the man with the gun would not be able to follow me. I came into the lower area and walked to the east, into the small cafeteria. This place was the goya area. The cafeteria was very narrow, as though it was squeezed into a room designed for something else. There were several booths along the north wall of the narrow dimly lighted room. I looked at the students who were gathered in the booths. I felt slightly out of place here, but i felt safer that i had out in the hall. I walked to the back of the room. The room was U shaped, and curved around what i thought was a stairwell. The service counter was at the back of the room, and there was a fat woman in a white apron waiting to serve customers. The cafe was crowded with people, and i started to feel more relaxed. I turned around and walked back to the north wing of the room, where several people i knew were sitting. I felt older that they, but i seemed to get along with them. One of them then started talking about “toyana”. I knew that the name had some significance.

12002 October 09

I had just returned form the conference, which seemed to be in the southern United States. I had killed someone there, and i could not stop thinking about it. I remembered that i had buried the body under the stone wall behind my parents’ house. I felt as though it was something that i had tried to block out of my mind, but i remembered that i had felt no remorse for killing the person. I started to wonder whether the memory was real. I remembered that there was something that i had tried to forget, and i was unsure whether it was the murder or not. I did not want to remember the murder, but i could see the end of the stone wall under which i buried the body. The wall seemed to be just behind the garage at my parents’ house. I hoped that nobody found the evidence.

I was in the small room of the house, sitting on the bottom edge of the large bed. The head of the bed was against the north wall. There were several other people on the bed to the north of me, and everyone was talking as though we were being interviewed. There was someone to the south to whom we were directing our attention. I realized that the other people on the bed were the actors from the television show Farscape. They were all out of character and were not wearing their usual makeup. I knew that the show had been canceled. The actors all seemed sad as they commented on some things. I found it strange how some of them looked without their costume makeup. I looked at one of the women on the bed. She had a round face and was rather short. I tried to imagine which character she played, but i did not recognize her. I then decided that she was the actor who played Chiana. It seemed strange to see how plain she looked when she was not in costume. I looked around at the other members of the cast, trying to figure out which one was Dargo. We were standing in the room, and the cast started to move to the southwest, to the door in the south end of the west wall. I watched the cast members as they passed me. I spotted one woman who looked like Zhan. I thought that it was easy to recognize her because she simply wore blue face paint. I watched her as she passed me and then followed her out the door. I looked back to see the man who played Crichton. I said hello to him as we walked to the north, through the doorway and into the small room. There was a large wooden table just to the west of the door which stretched into the room. I stopped in the middle of the room, watching the others walk past me. There was another man with Crichton whom i did not recognize. I thought that he must be a groupie. I watched Crichton as he walked past me, on the east. I thought that he was rather well built and looked over his arm muscles as he passed close. He was wearing a black tee shirt. He then started fooling around with the other man. Crichton was suddenly not wearing any pants, and he started to pull on his penis. I started to feel uncomfortable here and wondered why they were acting sexual with each other. They both jumped onto the bed to the north of me. I did not want to be here, so i left the room and found myself walking to the north, around the west side of the building. This place seemed like the garage at my parents’ house. I then remembered that i had a dream about a body being buried here. I walked around to the north side of the garage and noticed the large bush that was growing there. The back of the garage was L shaped, with the western half extending farther to the north. The bush was growing in the crest of the L. I suddenly noticed that there were clothes hanging from the leafless branches of the trees. I felt suddenly upset as i realized that the clothes were mine. My mother had gotten rid of the clothes that she did not like. I angrily started to collect the clothing. I did not want to get rid of them quite yet. I pulled them from the bushes and took them into the back of the garage, which was open. The back wall of the garage seemed to be incomplete, with only the vertical support beams exposed. I dropped a pile of clothing on the floor in the center of the incomplete room and started back for more. The room seemed tattered and full of construction debris. I then stopped as i heard my parents talking in the next room. I stayed still so that they would not hear me. My mother said that she had put the clothes out back. She wanted to get rid of them so that i would not find them. She said that she was going to burn them over the pile of scrap wood. I felt angry with her, and thought that i would have to collect my things and put them back where they belonged.

12002 October 12

I walked with the other person to the southeast, across the elevated parking lot. There seemed to be a large stadium to the west. Several other people were gathered to the east of where i was. The woman in the center of the group said something to me, and i replied. $Z was walking to the right of and a little behind me. I paused to talk to the others for a moment then continued. The other person walked with us. The parking garage on which we were standing slanted up to the east, and there seemed to be several vertical cement walls running east to west, to the south of me. The walls were white, and seemed to have black numbers on them indicating parking areas. The event had just ended in the stadium, and everyone was starting to head back to their cars. As i walked to the east, i looked to the south, spotting some of the cars in the lower level of the lot. I was walking on a ramp which seemed to remain level as the outer rim of the lot slanted upward. I could see the thick cement support beams which held up the section that i had just walked from. The ramp was then sloped downward to the east. The parking garage was circular, wrapping around the outside of the curved stadium. The levels of the parking garage near the stadium were stacked on top of each other, with metal guardrails around the outside edges. The outer rings of the parking garage were in between the inner levels. As i walked down the ramp to the outer ring, i looked down into the dark parking area below me. The upper level seemed well lighted by the outside light, as was the outside ring, but the lower level did not seem to be that well illuminated. I could see a ramp to the south which led down from the outer ring to the lower level. The lower level seemed to be only a metre or so below the level of the outer ring, while the upper level was almost three metres above the outer ring. I wondered where my car was. I thought that it would not be in the “good” parking spots, which were is the sun on the upper level. $Z said something to me as we walked, and i thought that i was, at least, lucky not to have a spot too close to the stadium. I felt that my car would not be as safe if it was near the mass of sports fans. I continued to the east, talking to $Z about the design of the building in that we were in. We then turned to the northwest as we crossed the living room of the new house. $Z had just moved into the house. There was a large window in the north wall. I felt excited to be here and looked around at all the new things. $F12 seemed to like his new house. I pushed my head close to the window, looking down the steep grass lawn at the narrow water channel which ran east to west, very close to the house. I could see the stony brook at the bottom of what appeared to be a man-made canal. I then looked to the east to see a small waterfall over an old dam. I thought that the scene looked very nice, and i said so to $F12. I admired the house. I adjusted my position to get a better look at the waterfall, but i could not seem to see it all that well from inside the house. I stepped to the northeast, across the bright green grass of the lawn. I said something to $F12, mentioning how nice i thought the house was. As i approached the northern edge of the lawn, where it dropped off steeply to the shore of the lake, i looked at the small tan building to the northeast of me. I then looked back to the south to see the stairs which led down to the bottom of the gorge. I had wanted to stand on the stairs, which acted as a porch for the house, so that i could get a better look at the picturesque water over the falls. The stairs, at first, seemed poorly maintained, but i remembered what $F12 had told me about the previous owners planting pumpkins all over the grounds. The stairs were actually missing. Only the outside frame of the wooden steps still stood at the bottom of the gorge. It now seemed black, which i knew was because of the pumpkin plants. There seemed to be so many nice things about this property. I turned around suddenly and started back up the hill, to the northwest. My mother was walking toward me from the gravel driveway to the west. She said that we had to go, which made me feel disappointed and annoyed with her. I turned grudgingly to the east to head back to the house, to get something before i left.

12002 October 17

I walked to the south, following the others down the old dirt road toward the small town. One of the young men in front of me picked up a large rock from the ground. I knew that we were going to throw the rocks into the gorge. I looked to the southwest to see the water in the valley, held in by the large cement damn. The gorge seemed to be man made, with steep walls on all sides. It seemed that the country road on which we were walking was at the top of a cement wall on the east side of the reservoir. I bent over to pick up one of the large stones from the ground. The rock had rough edges and seemed to be partly made of cement. I picked up a second rock in my left hand and started after the others. The bridge that we were walking on was under construction, which was why the road was torn up. I wondered what the construction workers would think of me carrying the stones. The ground just to the right of me was fresh cement. I did not want the workers to think that i was going to toss the rocks into the wet pavement. I adjusted the rocks in my hands, finding them a little large to grip easily. I lifted the one in my left hand up and rested it on my shoulder. As i passed the group of construction workers, who were gathered together on the south side of the bridge, talking, i wondered what they would think of me. They did not seem to notice me, though. They were wearing dirty blue jeans and denim work jackets. I continued across the bridge and joined up with the others, who were deciding where they should go. They seemed to be talking about heading down the main street of the town, to the east. I wanted to throw the rock i had into the gorge, but, as i looked around, i could not figure out where the large reservoir had gone. I then decided that it ended at the end of the old steel bridge where the construction had been. I looked to the west to see a guardrail extending from the mouth of the bridge and heading west. It was an overlook of the water. I told the others that i wanted to toss the stone into the water, but they no longer seemed interested. They seemed like $F1 and his friends. I wondered what i should do.

12002 October 18

I paused as i was walking to the east, across the large room in the bottom floor of the barn. I had just bought the house and the large property around it. There was someone with me turned to the east and headed to the large building to the southeast of me. The building seemed like it was part of an old factory. I walked through the large opening in the west end of the white cement building and found myself in a large open room. The place seemed dusty, with small pieces of debris scattered across the dirty cement floor. $Z walked with me across the room, though $Z now seemed to be a woman. I spoke to her as i looked around the room. There were several large pieces of machinery left in the barn, and i wondered what i could do with them. I then noticed a small alcove to the north of me. I thought that it had something to do with the heating system. There was a large white metal bin that was wider around the middle than at the ends. The bend at the center had a sharp angle in it. This seemed to be something for circulating the air. I felt excited as i thought of what i could do with all of the new things that came with my house. I looked around to the northwest. I could see the damp autumn fields of the farm through the horizontal slats in the wall of the barn. The field outside was long east to west, and there was a stone wall on the northern border. I could see several tractors and some other farm equipment parked along the stone wall. One of the tractors was white with yellow trim. It felt good to have all of the new things, and i wondered what i could do with them.

12002 October 19

I turned to the west as i continued to talk to the person to the north of me. I was walking with the group of people down the white corridor of the building. It seemed as though i was very young, and the people with me were my classmates from school. We were being led through the halls by the female teacher, but my attention was drawn to the dark sky to the west. I looked at the stars in the sky over the tall pine trees. The constellation seemed like Orion. I could not tell what drew my attention, but i thought that i could tell the man that i had heard something. As i followed the rest of my classmates through the small area of the corridor, i pretended to look to the west again, thinking that i had to make them think that i really was hearing something. I thought of the low tones from the desert of southwestern United States. There was an object it the center of the corridor around which the rest of the students were walking. I was on the south side as i watched the children following the woman around the western side and down the north, to the east. I thought that i could hear the sound again. There was something attracting my attention from the west. I then seemed to be behind $P7, but i was also standing to the east of a patio. There was a large house to the south of the patio, and a street to the east of me. $Z was standing to the east of me, continuing the conversation that we were having when i first noticed the sky to the west. I turned around to the west, noticing $K1 standing on the top step. The stone steps led down to the stone patio, which was about a meter below the lawn on which i was standing. On the ground, in the center of the patio was a large blue flag. It seemed to be an american flag, but it was mostly blue, with a red, white, and blue square in the upper left corner. I felt bitter at what the flag represented. I knew that people attributed great things to the flag, and i knew that they would expect me to treat the flag as though it was something special, but i felt defiant. I did not think that the flag was anything more than a piece of cloth. $K1 was standing in the middle of the flag as i commented at the uselessness of symbols. I stepped on the flag and defaced it in protest. I did not like other people telling me what to believe in and what i should do with those beliefs. The others joined me in ruining the large piece of cloth on the ground. I then realized that there was a man in the house to the south of us. I could see him moving, through the large sliding glass doors on the lower floor of the house, which was now to the east of the patio. He had just come home. We had to get out of the yard before he realized what we had done to the tarp. I felt like a young mischievous child as i walked quickly down the sidewalk to the east. We had to cross the street and get back to $P7. I looked to the east as i left the sidewalk and started across the street. There were two cars coming from the east, so we were not yet able to cross. I felt rushed as we finally made it across the street. I thought that we would have to turn to the corner and head to the north. Once we were around the corner, we would be out of sight of the house, and the man would not be able to follow us. Just then, i heard the man from the house yelling at us. He had spotted us running down the street. We turned the corner to the north, but the man had seen us. He would know the general direction in which we were heading. We ran to the other street and turned to the east again. We would have to make it to the next intersection before the man caught up with us, or he would again see in which direction we were heading. We had to lose him.

12002 October 20

I crossed the room of the cottage, heading to the north side of the room. The cottage seemed to be near the ocean. The other people in the room seemed to be related to me. I came to the north end of the room and turned to the south again, starting up the stairs which ascended along the east wall. I was standing on one of the lower stairs, talking to the man, when i felt the stair below me sagging from my weight. I knew that it was going to collapse as i said something to the man. I let myself fall down, catching myself on the stairs before i fell through the hole. I was uninjured, but i made it seem that i was having trouble. My left leg was hanging through the hole, and i thought that i could say that my pant leg was caught on a nail which prevented me from pulling myself up. I tried to tell the man to pull down on the leg of my pants, but he did not understand. He had moved behind me and was standing on the stairs which led to the basement. I grabbed the bottom of my left pant leg with my right foot and tugged on it, showing the man what i wanted him to do. I then realized that, in the process, i had freed my pants from the nail. I told the man so and pulled myself up from the hole.

12002 October 21

I was sitting in the seat just behind the bus driver as we rode to the west. There was something that i had just been doing. It had to do with a test. I handed in my homework to the bus driver. I knew that i had not done it in the same way that the rest of the class had. I was slighter older, and had other experiences that they did not have. As i handed in some of the papers, i dropped one onto the stairs which led out of the bus. $F4 was sitting in the seat at the front of the bus, right next to the stairs. I thought that he might bend over the short metal wall in front of him to grab the paper while i was placing the other part of the assignment on the register near the bus driver. As i moved back into my seat, however, i realized that $F4 did not notice the paper, so i bent over to pick it up. I handed it to $A48, mentioning that i answered the problem in a non-conventional way. I knew that he might ask me about the formulas that i used. He said something, so i walked over to the small desk to the east of the doorway, which was is the north wall of the classroom. $A48 asked me what the statement on the paper meant. I looked at the line at the head of an indented section of equations. It compared one variable to a second one, using the word “for” between them. $A48 asked me what the statement meant. I thought about it for a moment, trying to figure it out myself. I pointed out the first variable, which was “$INIT” followed by a subscript “INDEX” and a three-digit number. I said that this was the equation that i was trying to identify. I told him that the second variable had a certain value when the equation was equal to the first variable. I then noticed the live below, which started with the first variable, followed by an equal sign and a long equation. The equation contained the second variable. I used this as an example of how my statement worked in practice. I let $A48 take the paper, and i started walking to the east. I wanted to talk to $F4.

12002 October 24

I was on the second floor of the house, which seemed to be my grandmother’s house. There was a woman with me. She showed me the cell phone. Someone had dropped the cell phone at the house, and we had found it. The person with me said that she had tried to use the phone to see if she could find the owner. She handed me the phone as she spoke, telling me that it did not work. I looked over the telephone. It was a small black object, with smooth sides. I pulled the antenna out from the top of the phone, wondering whether it just needed to be adjusted so that it could work. I then heard the telephone ring. I rolled it over in my hand and noticed that there was a switch on one side with a pictogram of an antenna next to it. I had slid the switch toward the pictogram, so that the red section of the slider was now exposed. I told the other person that the phone just needed to be switched on. I felt pleased that i had solved a problem, and i answered the telephone. There was a woman on the other end.

12002 October 28

I ran though the halls of the large old building. The building seemed to be an old school building, with white stone floors. I was having fun with the others, running through the empty halls. I rounded one of the corners in the east wing of the large building and saw a door to the west of me. I opened the door and looked out. I was on the second floor of the building, and i could see the pavement below, between the wing of the building in which i was and the tall white west wing. There was an old cement roof over the door which had decorative flourishes along the sides. The ceiling of the overhang was just above the door, but the sides come half way down the sides of he door. I thought that there must have been a set of stairs which descended from the door, but there was nothing there at the moment. I held onto the door and swung out into the remains of the porch. I was not afraid of falling, but i thought that someone could easily open up the door by mistake and fall out. I did not think that i could fall, and i looked to the north, down the alley formed between the two wings of the building. I felt happy and playful.

I stopped as the person in front of me started talking. I had been walking to the east, climbing up the slope at the bottom of the cliff. There was a deep gorge with a waterfall to the north of me. It seemed like $P112. I looked over the houses at the top of the tan cliff as the person said something to me. I remembered walking up the road along the side of the gorge once before. It wound up the steep hillside, around the small houses and the dense pine shrubs. I tried to remember when i was last on the road. I thought that i might have actually been here before in a dream. The road was very scenic, with deep ravines and tight turns. I tried to remember where i had seen it before. I realized that this road was not really on the south side of $P112. It must have been in a dream before. I moved over the tan ground, watching the road under me curve up the side of the hill, to the east. This place seemed very peaceful and nostalgic.

12002 October 29

I drove my car back to the southeast, back toward the town. I was in a foreign country. I felt unfocused as i drove down the narrow highway through the old city buildings. The buildings seemed english, as though i was in downtown London. I had to get back to somewhere. I then realized that there was a bridge ahead of me. One of the cars ahead of me disappeared through an opening in the dark-grey steel wall at the entrance of the bridge. I suddenly realized that i might have to pay a toll. My view then panned down to a lower section of the wall. I thought that this must be the entrance to the tunnel on the underside of the bridge. Traffic in one direction was on the top of the bridge, and traffic going into the city, as i was, was directed through the tunnel. I slowed down my car at the entrance to the tunnel, pulling out my cloth walled to see if i had any change. I knew that i did not have any of the local money and wondered whether they would take american bills. As i approached the entrance to the tunnel, i slowed to a stop, ready to ask the person in the toll booth what i could pay with. Someone walked through the doorway ahead of me as i pulled my car to the right of the entrance to the cinema. The cinema was now to the south of me. I looked through my wallet, thinking that i really did not need deutsche marks anymore. Germany should be using euros. I remembered that one euro was about the same as one american dollar and wondered whether the man at the ticket booth would simply take my american money. I then noticed a heavy man to the west. He had whitening hair and a scruffy beard. I asked him whether he could take american money, wondering whether he spoke English. He said that he did not and started back toward the ticket booth, which was to the east of the entrance. I then remembered that i had a two-mark coin in my wallet and mentioned it. I then asked him whether deutsche marks were still in use. He said that they did not have any value any more. I asked where i could convert the marks to euros.
